Emperor Alexus launched the first crusade. Pope Urban II assisted him in the first crusades. The crusades were basically just a Holy War. The crusades first happened in Jerusalem. It first happened because the were going to rescue the Holy Land from the Turks. Pope Urban II made the most influential speech to go on the crusades. It worked. -

Christopher Columbus founded America
Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue, in fourteen hundred ninety-two!!!!! Ok enough silliness, now to the facts! Columbus was on quest to sail around the world to go to the west indies without going through the northern trip of Africa. He took 3 ships, the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria. Instead of going to the indies he ended up in what is now North America!!! -

Martin Luther gets booted from Catholic Church
Martin Luther didn't like the fact that the Roman Catholic Church was selling indulgences. He was so outraged about this that he nailed 95 of these to the huge wooden doors of the church in Wittenberg, in Saxony, Germany. He also publicly burn the Papal Decree. Therefore he was booted out of the church. -
The Declaration of Independece
Our founding fathers wrote this document to tell the british that they cant keep on taxing over seas! We dont want to be part of them anymore! We want to be FREE!!! But no the british did not want to accept this peacefully.....they wanted to fight!!! Well this eventually led to the Revolutionary War....which we won!!! -
