    Established the very first school to teach "preschool age"children. He also wrote a book titled, "How Gertrude Teaches her Children".
  • Maria Montessori

    Maria Montessori opens up her first private school. Today, maria is known all over the wold for her groundbreaking educational ideas and her schools can be found in many different places around the world.
  • First Public Kindergarden

    In 1916, the first public kindergarden was opened in New York by Susan Elizabeth blow.
  • Kindercare

    The first Kindercare opened this year, showing the development of both nurseries as well as child related programs other than schools.
  • NAFCC

    The National association for Family Child care is founded. The NAFCC is a non-profit organization that promotes quality child care.
  • San Fransisco

    San Fran is the first large city to require developers to set aside space of funds for child care space. This shows development in the way people have thought about education in that they are willing to spend more money on it.
  • No Child Left Behind

    The No Child Left Behind bill is passed. This bill helps children all over the country get the education they deserve through funding.
