    Comenius was important to how education became about. The development of learning through different stages and growth.
  • Friedrich Froebel

    Froebel trained elementary school teachers before he went and was head of an orphan asylum. After he was there for a bit, he realized the importance of early childhood. He then opened the first kindergarten school in this year.

    Elizabeth Palmer Peabody

    She became intrigued by Friedrich Froebel's theory on kindergarten and opened the first English public kindergarten school. Where she worked there for seven years before she wanted to further her research of Froebels kindergarten research.
  • Stanley Hall

    Stanley Hall is an American psychologist who focused on educational needs of adolescents. Hall discovered the need of psychological questions which made him lead to Child Development research.
  • Lev Vygotsky

    Vygotsky was known for coming up with sociocultural theory. He believed that children learned best by their parents and teachers, but believed that it was different by each cultures.
  • Jean Piaget

    Jean Piaget came up with the stages of Cognitive Development. Cognitive Development is the way children learn, remember, and think things out. Piaget helped ignite how children learn today.
  • Head Start Programs

    Head Start was created for summer school to help children in lower income households learn what they needed to know to go to elementary school. So they didn't go to elementary blindsided.
  • Maria Montessori

    Montessori became aware of intellectual disability learning. Now a days this is big by teaching all children the same.
