  • 1522

    Martin Luther translated the bible

    In 1522 Martin Luther changed translated the bible from Latin to vernacular language. This allowed people to become educated in their own language.
  • First picture book for children

    John Comenius wrote the first picture book for children 1658. The picture book was called Orbis Pictus.
  • Children's experiences determine who they are

    John Locke exclaimed his belief that children's experiences determine who they are. For example if you grow up in a dysfunctional environment then you will feel that the environment is a stable environment or you will think it is a normal environment.
  • Natural approaches to the process of bringing up a child

    Jean- Jacques Rousseau began advocating the approach of child rearing. (Child rearing is the process of bringing up a child or children)
  • Education is based on sensory impressions

    Johann Pestalozzi began to explore the belief that education is based on sensory impressions. I believe that sensory is a very important part in early childhood education.
  • Environment determines children's beliefs, behaviors, and achievements

    In 1771 Robert Owen held the belief that environment determines children's beliefs, behaviors, and achievements. Many studies show and prove this point however there a few cases where grown children has pushed out of the circumstances of where they have grown up.
  • Mother can best teach children

    In 1827 Johann- Pestalozzi promoted the idea that the mother could best teach children.
  • Education can help shape a new society

    In 1853 Robert Owen began to proclaim the thought that education can help shape a new society. He believed that if you teach the new generation how to act and such then they will form a new society.
