Lucius Lyons finishes survey of the future site of Otsego
Land surveyor and future Michigan Senator, Lucius Lyons surveys land in Michigan Territory, including what will become Otsego. Lyons wrote, "The timber is beech, sugar, maple, oak, ash, lynn, black walnut, with ironwood,..Everything considered, this township may well be designated first rate." -
Exchange Hotel Built
On the southwest corner of Farmer and Allegan Streets, this popular stage coach stop, holstery, and hotel in western Michigan would later be torn down in 1898. -

Otsego Hall to Be Torn Down
Otsego Union reports that the oldest building in Otsego, Otesgo Hall built in 1837 by Samuel Foster, is scheduled to be torn down.
