Syntactic Structures

1957

Chomsky released Syntactic Structures in 1957. It is thought that this book revolutionized linguistics by using his theory of transformational-generative grammar.

Theory of Universal Grammar

1965

Related to his acquisition of language theory. This theory proposes that humans possess innate faculties to all human languages.

Retirement

2002

After over 40 years of teaching and conducting research at MIT Chomsky retires. However he continued interviews and was an active presence until 2023. Chomsky dedication to his theorys help put a base on how children learn their first language he encouraged a creative work environment to enhance learning expiernces.
