    The massacre at Mystic is exactly what it sounds like. It was an unexpected killing of almost all the Pequet people women children and men. There was no mercy in this massacre. Other Native Americans were also in on the killings along with the Puritans who led this massacre.

    Lieutenant Governor Robert Morris enacted The Scalp Act which was a bounty of the heads of Native Americans literally removing their scalps and paying people for it.

    The 3/5ths compromise was an agreement that delegates in all states 3 out of 5 slaves were counted when figuring out a state's population for representation and taxation.

    The slave trade ended in 1808 when Congress decided that it was illegal to trade slaves between nations, this ended the slave trade we had with Africa. After that, it was legal to have search and seizure of cargo ships to make sure there were no trans-Atlantic slave trades going on

    The Missouri Compromise said that Missouri was a slave state, this also said Maine was not a slave state to even it out. This also made it illegal to be a slave state above the 36-30 latitude line.

    The Indian Removal Act was signed by President Jackson which authorized the removal of Indians from their land and to be moved west of the Mississippi River. Few tribes cooperated with this which would later cause the trail of tears.

    After generations of Native Americans living on their land after the Indian Removal Act, they were forced to travel west of the Mississippi River. They had to travel the trail of tears they were forced to walk hundreds of miles this trail was often a deadly journey.

    The fugitive slave act was part of the Compromise of 1850 which greatly angered a lot of people requiring the government and people to return slaves to their owners even if there in a free state.

    On January 1 1863 after three years of the horrific Civil War Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation which declared that all rebellious states that had slaves were forced to set them free.

    The thirteenth amendment made slavery and servitude illegal other than as punishment for people.

    The Fourteenth Amendment is the amendment that concluded all people born in the US would become citizens including formerly enslaved people. This amendment also included that male black citizens have equal protection and rights under the 14th Amendment.

  • Plessy vs. Ferguson

    Plessy vs. Ferguson
    Plessy vs. Ferguson was a Supreme Court ruling that upheld Louisiana's ruling of equal but separate for white people and black people. Saying that it was unconstitutional to have it any other way.

    Battle of Little Bighorn
    This battle was fought near Montana's Little Bighorn River hence the name of the battle. It was led by Lieutenant Cluster against the Sioux and Cheyenne tribes. This becomes known as Cluster's last stand because he started to cause problems for the native Americans since he wanted their gold, he did not realize how outnumbered they were and everyone who was fighting with Cluster died.

    After years of the buildup of hatred, for the native americans' land. This sight of this was a massacre. A gun discharged and the troops started shooting and shot hundreds of Lakota men women and children.
