Fair Housing Act
In 1968, The Fair Housing Act was passed. The Fair Housing Act of prohibited discrimination against disabled individuals with respect to the sale or rental of a house. Anyone with disabilities were allowed to rent or buy a house. -

The New Freedom Intitiative
On February 1, 2001, President George W. Bush announced the New Freedom Initiative. This initiative was designed to ensure that people with disablitlies were able to participate in their communities fully and equally.
