Kindergarten
First experience with reading was in my first year of elementary school, and it’s impacted my life greatly . -
Skippy Jon Jones
This was one of the first books I read that was somewhat related to my culture, and it was so fascinating to me as I hadn’t come across it in any other books before it. -
Runny Babbit
In the third grade I found this book intriguing because of the author’s decision to switch out the first letter of most words. -
The Magic Treehouse
This series was one of the first times I had experienced what many book readers have experienced. It was an incredible sense of being in the story with the characters and visualizing everything as I read. -
Percy Jackson and The Olympians
This series has taught me so much about Greek gods, and it gave me knowledge that helped me understand material in my high school English classes that other students didn’t understand. -
Twilight
This series was the first time I had ready such a large book, and I managed to complete all of it in a year. -
Middle School
During my middle school years, I read the most books than I have during any other time of my life. -
Websites
While I was in high school I found a few websites where local authors would publish their stories for free, and I grew to love them as I could access so many stories on any mobile device. -
High School English Classes
My favorite classes in high school were English, as we could read in class. I enjoyed being able to bring in my own books during certain days to catch up on my own reading. I also enjoyed most of the stories that we were assigned in class. -
Today
Currently, I still love reading but I’ve had struggles with finding time in between schoolwork and my job to read anything new. However, I always look forward to reading more whenever I get the opportunity to, and now that I’ve gotten older I’ve wanted to read more non-fiction and academic books.
