Photography
For this assignment we had to capture a meaningful and unique photo that represented school spirit. When taking the photo, I tried to keep in mind the different aspects of photography such as depth and law of threes. The photo I took captures the school spirit by showing the respected awards from our school and the words celebrating excellence. This shows how ours school is dedicated to working hard and as a school we celebrate the excellence of our students. -
Video Work
I love working with technology so this was a great chance to try my hand in making videos. We created a flipogram showing the struggle students experience on their first day in a new school. We chose this topic because it related to us personally. -
Pysanky Eggs
We completed Pysanky Eggs to celebrate the season of Lent. I found the eggs to be a great way to connect to the Ukrainian culture and a different and unique form of prayer. I would definitely experiment with these eggs again in the future. I also like how each of the colors on the egg have a unique meaning. -
Plaster Mask
Plaster masks was another interesting opportunity. Working with plaster and clay was a new experience for me and I enjoyed the chance to try something new. In the future I would perhaps choose to work with plaster again but overall I enjoy paint and paper medium slightly more. My mask represented the issue of exam stress. I chose to do this because later in the year everyone is under the stress of PAT's and choosing a high school and appropriate courses. -
African Drumming
Learning drumming let me see into the African culture and way of life. It let me experience and try a piece of a different culture and it was a very unique and interesting opportunity.
