    The church tradition educates the community on how the Eucharist originated from the Last Supper. In a church leader's letter, Paul writes to the Corinthians portraying a Eucharist celebrated in conjunction to the suppers shared with Early Christians throughout their own home. Which included the blessing of bread and wine. Celebrating and rejoicing the love and presence that Jesus shares with his disciples.

    Due to the apostolic community was no longer involved with the Eucharist. Eventually leading to Jewish-Christians un-welcomed at the synagogue services. During this period, prayers, chants and songs were added to the Liturgy.

    After a lengthy period of inequality, the arrival of emperor Constantine, led to the legalisation of Christianity again. The once simple celebration of the Eucharist evolved. Being celebrated in basilicas, the ceremony adding genuflections, processions and candles. This time period was a major factor to the contribution of creating a stepping stone to the foundation of Eucharist celebrations for generations to come.

    During this time period, the priest would celebrate the Eucharist with his back facing the people. Throughout the mass, there were very little participation from the individuals attending, apart from the singing of the hymns.

    The current stage of evolution of the Eucharist regarding the mass, involved the priest facing the community. The community attending were given more opportunities to interact and partake the spiritual and joyous atmosphere the mass provided. New aspects were added to the mass including the procession of gifts and the sign of peace.
