Chinese Traiders
Zheng He may have come in the 1400's. Chinese traders began sailing in the area around 400 Ad. They sailed in ships called junks. They were headed to the spices island to trade. Their ships may have sailed into the waters north of Australia. The Aborigines told stories about people with golden skin. This could have meant the Makasanss. -

The Portuguese
There is no evidence to proove that the portuguesemade it to Australia, but the Portuguese maps show the rocks of the Great Barrier Reaf. -
SPANISH EXPLORATION
In 1606 Quiro and Torres led three spanish ships on an expedition from Peru, in South America to find the Great South land. It took Torres two months maping what is now called the Torror strait. -
Able Tasman 1 voiage
Able Tasman came from Bataivia in 2 ships called Zaeheen. He came to map New Holland. He named Tasmainia van Demans land. Deman's the islands of N.Z. Tasmans crew heard people in the duch and sail simple from fires. -

He was sent back to try to map all of New Holland and to make contact with Indigenes Austrailias. He coulden't find a pasage through the Torror Strait to get to the Est Coast. -

They came to fish for sea cucomber[trapang] So they could sell it to the chinese. They tradded cloth,tabacco,axes,knifes,rice and gin with I.A. -
Willem Dampier 1 Voyage
On his first circomnavigation of the world on the duccaneer ship called the cygnet. On the Western Austrailia coast. From January to march 1688 the ship anchored in and named it cygnet Bay, near present day Broom. While the ships hull was being cleaned Dampier went ashor to observe the Aboriginal people. -
Dirk Hartog
In October 1616 the ship Endracht, captained by Dirk Hartog was the socond Duch vessel to land on the continent [the Duyfken was first]. Hartog, a duch sea captain, was on his way to Batavia [now Jakarta] in Java and he arrived at the Great South Land by accident. -
William Dampier 2nd voyage
In 1699 William Dampier sailed in the ship the Roebuck. He sailed across the INdian Ocean to New HOlland. He reached the west coast for a second time. He used Abel Tasman's charts. he sailed into and named Shark Bay. Then he sailed north to where Broone us today. -
James Cook
James cook arrived in a ship called the Endeavour. James cook came to calculate the distance venus from Tahiti, to find sighns of torror Austrulice. Cook had both hostile and peasful meatings with Indigines Austrailian's.It took James cook three months maping the easy coast.
