    Democracy in Ancient Greece
    In 508BC democracy was created by Cleisthenes, and it was created so people could have power over what was happening in their lives. Where males over 20 can both run and vote. This has shaped Canada by creating the foundation to our central government.

    The Roman Empire
    In the roman empire, they had a representative democracy, which was much different from the Greeks, where the rules were passed through another representative. This shaped the Canadian government because this is close to the system we use now, and without it I don't know where we would be now.

    Iroquois Confederacy
    Iroquois Confederacy was (believed) to be founded by a peacemaker, that brought together 5 nations together in the great lakes area, to create a better connection, and better living condition to the 5 places. Or as it's sometimes called "The great league of peace". This helped influence Canada to join up with the other provinces to work out how they wanted to create government.

    The Magna Carta
    The Magna Carta was the first written document, that stated that the king and his government was not above the law. it was put in place so the king wouldn't out rule his own power (such as stealing and other crimes). This influenced the Canada government system, by setting boundary's that weren't always known to man.

    Thomas Hobbes
    Thomas Hobbes believed that a government headed by a king was the best form ( absolute monarchy). He believed that, having all power in one's hands could resolve all political problems. He helped shape Canada's government by having a belief in monarchy, such as we do.

    John Locke (philosopher ) believed in the fair rights of human beings, which they should be able to vote, and choose what they want to do. This also is what Canada's government believes as well, so you can say that John Locke has shaped the way democracy/Canada thinks.

    The divine rights of kings was a system, where kings got to rule without word from people, only god. The kings have no consequences to there crimes. This has affected Canada in a way where we know not to, since we have all equal rights.

    The British Parliament was created so people can have their say in representatives, and help shape/have a sense of control in the government. the British parliament helped shape Canada's government by being in control, and leaving long lasting effects while doing so.

    The Revolutionary Ideas included such things as; equal rights, that political systems that should be about the people (involving and representing), and challenging privileges afforded by churches and monarchies. (1775-1799 for American and French). this helped Canada make some changes in what we believe is right for our people.

    Social Revolutions where changes in our society that really shaped our structures. these are known for changing the way society thinks, acts and our economy. An example that happened in the social Revelation are getting basic needs such as paying more at jobs. The times this has happened was in the great depression and the 1960s. how this has helped Canada is showing what the people want and need, and adding that into the way we rule.
