Stephen F. Austin settles 300 colonists in Texas response
This is a good move by Stephen. The more Americans that come into Texas, the greater chance we have of capturing Texas. -
The Fredonian Rebellion
Two brothers, Bejamin and Haden Edwards were empersarios that created the country of Fredonia in Nacadoches. They went there with only 20 men and quickly took over the small Mexican force in the town. They protested the Mexican government about the land grants they were given. They wanted all the mexican people away from their land. Before a larger mexican force could arrive, they fled the town. The attempt to create the country of Fredonia was a failure. Celebrating Texas Textbook -
Fredonian Reballion response
I think these two brothers are foolish. If they think they can start a country with only 20 men, they must not be very intelegent. No wonder they lost! -
Mier y Teran Report
Mier y Teran was sent from Mexico to look over Texas. He was told to journal what he say and observed. He noticed that American colonists out numberd mexican colonists 10:1. He suggested that Mexico should get a tighter grip on texas or else they will lose it to the United States. -
Mier y Teran Report response
I think that this man needs to leave Texas immediantly. There is no reason that he needs to be here. Our numbers might be greater than those of Mexican colonists but most of our colonists might not be willing to fight. -
The Law of April 6,1830
The Law of April 6, 1830 was made by Mexico to decrease the chance of Texans taking over Texas. The law stated that there can be no more immigration into Texas from the US, no more slavery, all empersario land grants were canceled, presidios and forts were built along the border to guarded with convict soldiers, a custom duty would be charged on all goods from the US into Texas, and the law supported Mexican colonists to move to Texas. Celebrating Texas textbook -
The Law of April 6, 1830 response
This is absolutely ourageous law. Just because there are many Texans in Texas doesn't mean they should just make a law cutting off all of our supplies and family. -
Conflict at Anahuac
William T. Logan came to Anahuac looking for his two slaves. A mexican official named John Davis Bradburn controlled Anahuac and had Logan's slaves. he would not release them until he saw proof of ownership. Logan hired William B. Travis to help represent him. When Logan went back to New Orleans to retrieve the documents, Travis tricked Bradburn telling him that a large armed force was coming. When no army came, Bradburn through Travis in jail for trickery. Celebrating Texas -
Conflict at Anahuac response
William B. Travis must be an extremely brave man to trick Bradburn. He probably did not know the power that Bradburn had as an official. With this said, it is still insane that someone would be thrown in jail for that. -
Turtle Bayou Resolutions
The Turtle Bayou Resolutions was written by the Texans in support of the Constitution of 1824. Most Mexicans were in support of the Law of April 12, 1830. -
Turtle Bayou Resolutions response
I understand why the Texans would write this resolution. I understand their fustration with the Mexican government. But writing a document stating what we should do is weak. Someone needs to take the first step into the revolution. -

Santa Anna takes over Mexican government response
If someone thinks that they can and should just take over the government without any political knowledge is not very bright. That is a foolish mistake. -

Stephen F. Austin sent a letter from Mexico City to his colony (San Felipe de Austin) fustrated about the Mexican government. Before the letter could get to his colony, someone opened the letter and gave it to the Mexican government. For what he said in the latter, they put him in jail. -
Stephen F. Austin is arrested response Mexico wins
Stephen Austin might have been a little disrespectful but to put him in jail? That's crazy! They put him in prison when there are murderous outlaws and bandits that are free and have not been caught. -
Battle of Gonzales
The Battle of Gonzales took place when commander Ugartechea of Mexico was sent to retreive a small six pound cannon from the Texans. The Texans did not want to give up the cannon. The cannon was originaly given to the Texans to defeat small Native American forces. -

The Battle of Gonzales is a good representation of the bravery of Texans. The would not back down nor retreat. -
Battle of San Antonio
The defenders of San Antonio were attacked by Santa Anna's army. The were quickly defeated and retreated to Alamo about a mile away. -
Battle of San Antonio response
The Texan forces should have been more prepared for the attack. If the had kept San Antonio under Texan command, the could have win the Battle of the Alamo. -
Runaway Scrape
The Runaway Scrape was when the some Texan colonists and other people fled into the US when they heard that Santa Anna's Army was coming to Texas. Most people fled to New Orleans. -
Runaway Scrape response
I can understand why some people would not want to stay in Texas during the Revolution. It could be dangerous depending where you are but we need more volunteers to fight. -

The Convention of 1836 as held in the small village Washington-on-the-Brazos. Fifty-four delegates met there and drafted the Texas Declaration of Independnce. -

The defenders of the Alamo fought courageously without fear. The Battle of the Alamo will never be fogotten. -
Battle of the Alamo
The Battle of the Alamo was fought in an old mission in San Antonio de Bexar. There were only 189 Texans defending the Alamo. The reason the Alamo was fought was because San Antonio de Bexar was the most fortified city in Texas at the time. Therefor, one of the most important places to keep during the Revolution. The Mexicans and Texans both wanted San Antonio de Bexar. Celebrating Texas textbook -
Massacre at Goliad response
This dictator, Santa Anna, should be put to death himself! Why would anyone kill such a vast number of men! If us Texans would have caght 200 Mexican soldiers we would have made them prisoners not kill them! -
Masscre at Goliad
The Masscre at Goliad occured when James Fannin tried to help the soldiers of the Alamo by sending more troops. However, his decision was late and the were no prepered for the journey. On the way to the Alamo, commander Urrea attacked them in the open. Outnumbered, the remaining 200 soldiers surrender. Treaties of Velasco
Santa Anna sure does deserve wha he got! He proved to an evil dictator and foolish commander!
