Intentional Stance
Daniel Dennett introduced a term called Intentional Stance as part of his Theory of Mental Content. Intentional Stance is described as the level of abstraction and mental properties we see while examining the behavior of our objects of observation. The steps for this process would be to figure out what beliefs the object you're predicting the behavior of ought to have. Then you figure out it's desires and how it will act to further it's goal according to it's beliefs. -
