Benjamin Franklin "English Academy"

The Morrill Act was established to provide states land to build industrial colleges for its people. The focus of the institutions was to teach military tactics, as well as agriculture and industrial courses. The Department of Education was created to research ways of assisting schools and teachers on ways for effectively teaching students. There have been several initiatives developed over time. One of the new ones that is still in the works today is improving the cost of college for students. The Obama Administration is working towards providing the ability for responsible students to attend college at a lower cost.

Joliet Junior College
Joliet Junior College is the first public community college in higher education. The institution was noted to be the "brain child" of the first program after high school graduation.
