Missouri Comprimise
The Missouri compromise was a compromise that lead the northern part of the united states be free of slaves. The north and south wanted power for themselves. The south had slaves (3/5 act) which meant more people could vote and it disturbed the north and south balance. -

The Tariff declared to increase the coast of British textiles. The English demanded raw cotton to increase the Finnish product to sell to Americans. However the nullification crisis was a confrontation between south Carolina and the federal Government to attempt to null and void the federal tariffs. -

The underground railroad were created by African American people. It also helped them escape to become free and to find a shelter. They wanted to either go to the north or to Candida to become free. Senator Henry Clay born April 12,1777 in Hanover County Virginia. January 29,1850 attempted to seek compromise and to avert the crisis between North and South. Part of the compromise of 1850, the fugitive slave act was amended and the slave trade in Washington was abolished. -
Uncle Tom's Cabin
Harriet B. Stow born in 1811 sold anti-slavery novel Uncle Tom's Cabin. The book was written so that Americans can view slavery a different way. While she was in a trip she went to the rail roads and found fugitives in the railroad. After that she herd about the new laws about slavery and how they become more strict. She made the book to have the purpose of people knowing her reaction and her feelings. -
Kansas-Nebraska Act
Passed by the U.S Congress on May 1854. Allowed people in the territories of Kansas and Nebraska to openly decide whether to have slaves in the borders. The act served as a repeal against the compromise. Senator Stephan Douglas issued the bill to divide the two. -
Brooks- Sumner Event
The events took place at Washington City, district of Columbia in May. Massachusetts senator, Charles Sumner nearly emptied chambers of the U.S. After the attack the he didn't return to the senate for 3 years ,but was reelected by general court.
