Analytical Engine
In 1910, the Analytical Engine was created. This machine was important because it was the first mechanical computer. It had an Arithmetic Logic Unit and integrated memory. -
Differential Analyzer
In 1925, Vannevar Bush created the first Differential Analyzer. This was important because the Differential Analyzer could complete all sorts of scientific computations. -
Binary Base
In 1939, John Vincent Atanassof has a prototype of the binary based ABC(Atanassof Berry Computer). This is important because this computer is considered the first automatic digital computer. -
CNC
In 1940, a calculating machine called the Complex Number Calculator was created. This was important cause a high tech machine in that time and was used where ever it was needed. -
Magnetic Core Memory
In 1953, at MIT Jay Forester installed a magnetic core on the Whirlwind computer. This Magnetic Core Memory was important because it would be a new, fast and reliable way to store data. -
First Minicomputer
In 1965 Digital Equipment Corp. itroduced the first commercialy successful minicomputer. This was important becasue it opened a whole new range of smaller faster computers. -
The Kenbak-1
In 1971 the very first personal computer, The Kenbak-1 wa introduced and advertised. This computer couldn't preform many tasks, but the fact that it was so small was very important. -
First Portable Computer
In 1981, the first portable computer was created by Adam Osborne. This was impotartant because while other compouters where small, this computer could be taken anywhere anytime. -
Mosaic Web Browser
In 1993 The Mosaic Web Browser was released. This commercial software allowed graphical access to the internet. This was important because the internet wasn't something we could look at until The Mosaic Web Browser came out.
