To maximize the structure of a classroom teachers should create a well organized, clutter free environment that students can navigate through easily. -
Share Classroom Expectations
It is important that teachers openly share, and discuss with the class the expectations. There should be rules set for the class to follow. Teachers should have reminders (ex: posters) that students can refer to, and the teacher should constantly monitor the expected behaviors and evaluate. -
Actively Engaage Students
Teachers should offer multiple opportunities for students to show what they know, and share information. Strategies vary from student to student. -
Reinforcements
Praising/celebrating students growth, and successes will help maintain desired/positive behaviors. By calling students parents to share positive news will encourage students to keep working hard, and behaving approriately. -

Negative reinforcement is a strategy that can be used when students negativly behave. There are many responses to negative behaviors that teachers can use:
