First Contsitutional Convention
A meeting took place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with representatives from all states except Georgia. -
State Constitutions
Many states had begun to adapt a state constitution. New Hampshire had replaced its royal charter with a state constitution and many states had followed. -
Declaration of Independence
Ben Franklin, John Adams, Roger Sherman,Robert Livingston, and Thomas Jefferson all helped write the Declaration to estblish the new nation. -
Articles of Confederation
The Articles where created and establised a "firm league of friendship" and allowed each state to keep its powers it once held. The Articles didn't go into immediate effect because all 13 states hadn't ratified it. All states had ratified the Articles by 1781 -
