  • Six Day War

    Six Day War
    Egypt demanded that the UN was to remove its troops from Gaza and the Sinai Peninsula. Egyptian troop then moved into the Sinai and closed off Israel' route to the Red Sea. In defense, Israel striked first, they launched air strikes against Egypt, Syria, and Jordan. They easily defeated Arab force. As a result, Israel took control of Golan Heights, Sinai Peninsula, Gaza Strip, West Bank, and East Jerusalem.
  • Yom Kippur War

    Yom Kippur War
    Israel gained control of land with a large Palestinian population. Determined to win their territory back, Egypt and Syria launched another war in which they surprise attacked Israel. Due to the lack of preparation, Israel needed military support from the U.S forces. With help from the U.S, they were able to push back Egyptian and Syrian forces and continued to fight for weeks until both ceased fire.
  • Declaration

    Declaration
    In 1977, Egyptian president, Anwar Sadat decided to take a step towards having mutual peace with Israel.
  • Camp David Accords

    Camp David Accords
    U.S president, Jimmy Carter invited Israel prime minister, Menachem Begin, and Anwar Sadat to Camp David to discuss matters of making peace with each other. They all reached an agreement known as the Camp David Accords and the treaty was able to end 30 year of hostility between Israel and Egypt.
