    The Six-Day War
    The Six-Day War was first an aerial assault by the Israeli military, aiming at Egypt, Syria, and Jordan. The main objective was to destroy aircraft that was on the ground, while ground troops moved in to defeat Arab forces. Israeli forces took control over GOlan Heights, Sinai Peninsula, Gaza Strip, West Bank, and East Jerusalem.

    Yom Kippur War
    The Yom Kippur War was a counterattack to regain control of lost territory that the Israelis took. This was a surprise attack against Israel, which took place on the Jewish holy day. At the beginning the Arab forces made great advancements, but then the Israelis called for aid from the US. As always, when the US intervenes it is never good for the receiving end and the forces pushed back the Arabs. Leading to a cease fire and oil embargos.

    Camp David Accords
    The Camp David Accords was a meeting of the Egyptian President Sadat and Israeli prime minister Begin, organized by US president Jimmy Carter at the presidential retreat in Maryland. President Sadat wanted peace with Israel so the 2 leaders met at was called the Camp David Accords to talk about peace matters.

    Intifada

    The Palestinian resentment of Israeli occupation boiled over into a rebellion called the intifada. Palestinian youth fought Israeli troops in a widespread violent street protest. Responding with strong military and police resistance and retaliation, the fighting continued until the 1990s.

    The Second Intifada

    The second intifada was a violent uprising against Israel by the Palestinians. This time armed with Palestinian armed security guards. Hamas sent suicide bombers into Israel to attack citizens. The Israelis retaliated with jet fighters, tanks, helicopter gunships, with ground troops into cities at the West Bank and Gaza.
