Israeli Independence and First War
After years of pushing for independence on May 14, 1948 Israel was named independent but on that same day Arab attacked them. This caused Arab to not gain their promised independent state and land was fought over between the two. -

Six Day War
Egypt wanted the UN to remove their troops so they started to close up the Gulf of Aqaba which was Israels route to the Red sea. Arab became afraid that Israel would attack so they attcked them first which was a bad choice. From June 5th to the 10th they fought and Israel defeated them and gained lots of land. -
Yom Kipper War
The next war to take place was the Yom Kipper that lasted from October 6-25, 1973, it was cause by Egypt and Syria trying to regaon their land by attacking Israel. The U.S. gave support to Israel, this caused the Arab OPEC to refuse oil to any helping Israel, raising gas prices around the world. Finally, both sides agreed to a cease-fire. -
Camp David Accords
Egyotian president Anwar Sadat wanted to have peace with Israel so him, Israeli prime minister Menachem Begin, and U.S president Jimmy Carter met at the presidental retreat of Camp Daivd in Maryland to discuss peace.The discussion lasted 12 days but when they had finished it had given peaces after 30 years of fighting. -
First Intifada
Tension was still very strong between the Palestinian and Israeli people until it bubbled over into a rebellion in 1987, it caused a large amount of street violance. The two government leadeers tried to discuss peace but extremists on both sides wouldn't allow it and set up suicide bombers to stop the negotiations. There wasn't any sort of rest until September 13, 1993 when the first intifada ended but the tension didn't let up. -
Second Intifada
At the start of the second intifada, the youths were met with armed Palestinian security forces. Hamas sent suicide bombers into Israel to attack the people, Israel retaliated by sending tanks, fighter jets, and helicopters into Palestine. After years of fighting Israel finally removed from Gaza, stopping the fighting, on February 8, 2005.
