Computers through the 1980's

  • IBM First Personal Computer

    Created by International Business Machines, this initial computer had very little room for processing and used a Microsoft server. There was a huge, bulky monitor attached to an equal-sized computer. This is the beginning of what we all use today with our portable, slim, personal computers.
  • The Invention of the CD

    Compact disks were typically used to store software for developers but became developed to store music by Sony and Philips. CDs were a portable way to move information around and provided a more individual use of technology.
  • The Internet...Kind of

    DNS released the protocol that is one of the basis' for the Internet that we use today. This release allowed computers to connect and make contact with other computers also linked to the same protocol. Things like social media, online classes, or anything accessed by an internet connection would not be possible today without this data.
  • The printer comes to ife

    The LaserJet developed by Hewlett Packard was released and quickly became a staple. This quickly revolutionized the rate at least information is able to be shared and increased the amount of information that can be.
  • Nintendo Gaming System

    This was the system that most people began using personal video game devices. This was the first console released by Nintendo, and we still use gaming devices produced by Nintendo today, such as the switch and earlier on, the Wii and DS.
