    This is an electric typewriter created by the IBM. I chose to include this because it was a time before we had actual computers, yet we still had the technology to get words on a paper without handwriting them ourselves.

  • Harvard Mark-1 is created

    Harvard Mark-1 is created
    This was a giant mathmatical calculator created by Howard Aiken. This massive machine perfomed mathmatecial equations and was soon replaced by program computers.
    I chose this because it's amazing how we can go from technology that is HUGE to technology that easily fits in our pocket in such a short amount of time.

  • First hard drive is created

    First hard drive is created
    The first hard drive--created by IBM--cost about $1,000,000 US dollars. I chose this because that is amazing. To go from an invention that at the time was so unique that it cost so much money to an ordinary piece of technology that almost every person owns or at least has seen.

  • First semiconductor created

    The first semiconductor for processing data was built.
    I chose this because when you learn about processing data, it's nice to know where that all began.

  • The first ATM

    The first ATM (Automatic Teller Machine) is created.
    I chose this because the ATM is still part of technology, and it also means that advancements are coming quickly.

    The Altair 8800 is created by Ed Roberts who at this point is considered the Father of the Personal Computer.
    This is important because again it shows the race of technology that our society creates.

  • IBM's PC

    IBM introduces the Personal Computer (PC) which grows to be wildly popular.
    I chose this one because Today, PCs are very popular;most people have one in their homes. It's good to know where tjhey started.

  • Apple introduces the first Macintosh

    This is the first Macintosh created by Apple. I chose this because I personally love the MAC, so it is very exciting to see it's progressment over the years.

  • The Mosiac Web Browser is introduced

    The Mosiac Web Browser is introduced
    The Mosiac is the first comercial software to allow graphical access on the internet. This is important because today, that is what a lot of people use computers for, browsing the internet.

  • The first iPad is created

    The first iPad is created
    The first iPad is introduced. I chose this because of course, this is one of the most recent inventions to take hold and has been very succesful throughout the world
