The world wide web was born in 1990 by Tim Berners, Lee at CERN in Switzerland. The world wide web has enhanced our lives greatly. Without it email, online shopping, or online education would not be possible. Because of the web, we are able to do a lot of things without leaving our homes. -
Text Messages
Text messages were invented by Neil Papworth. He sent the first text message ever December 1992. Text messages is a big part of our everyday lives. it is much easier to send a quick message than calling someone especially if they are busy and cannot answer. Text messages allow us to leave a message that can be seen when the other person has time. -
Smartphones
The first cellphone considered a "smartphone" was called the Simon. It was invented by IBM. The cell phone was bulky but featured a touch screen, email capabilities, and other apps including a calculator and sketch pad. Smartphone are very important in our live today. Smartphones are our portable computers. We can access tons of information, shop, study and play games from this essential device. -
Sony Playstation
The playstation was invented by Ken Kutaragi, dubbed "The Father of Playstation," who worked for Sony. The play station was one of the first gaming consoles to offer games in form of CD's versus disk. To this day the majority of games for consoles are in the CD format. The enhances graphics and audio have taken gaming to a new level. -
DVD's
DVD's were invented by Sony in Japan in collaboration with Pacific Digital Company in the US. DVD's have enhanced our lives by giving us theater quality movies to view at home. DVD's are also much easier to store and save space. Nowadays people stream movies but the DVD's changed people movie watching experience while they were popular. It was much easier to replay, rewind or forward a movie versus using a VCR.
