Antikythera Device created
The Antikythera Device is a lunar month calculator which was built in Greece and is a big milestone because it's one of the first mechanical calcualtors built. It was built in 80 A.D. -
Binary Math introduced.
Leibniz introduced Binary mathematics in 1679. THis is important because computers still use Binary today. -
Multiplying Calculator invented.
Earl of Stanhope invents a multiplying calculator in 1777. IT would take a lot more time to do math assignments if this wasn't invented. -
First mass-produced calculating machine.
Thomas de Colmar's Arithmometer is the first mass-produced calculating machine and is used for many years after its creation. It's important because it's the start of many more machines after that to come. -
Invention of the telegraph.
The telegraph was invented by Samuel Morse in 1831. This is important because it was the first communication going a long distance besides letters. -
First Printing Calculator
Scheutz invents the first printing calculator. This is important because if he didn't we may have had to write a lot more things by hand. -
In Computable Numbers published.
Alan Turing publisheds On Computable Numbers which has the theoretical foundation for computer principles. We may not be this ahead in technology without it. -
Floppy disks invented.
Yoshiro Nakamatsu invented the floppy drive in the 1970's. It's important because it made a big difference with computers and the memory. -
Creation of the Laptop.
(exact date unknown). Adam Osborne invented the laptop in 1981. It cost $1,795. IT is important because it's quite a bit smaller than a computer and was easier to carry around. -
World Wide Web is launched.
The world wide web was launched to the public on Aug. 6th, 1991. This is important because it would be a lot harder to do this assignment without it. -
