Gordon Teal develops transistors based on silicon, It helped switch electronic signals. -
Mouse
Douglas Englebart develops a working mouse. I think this is a great milestone because we can now manuever the computer! -
Floppy Disk
The floppy disk is introduced. It is a storage disk. So we could put stuff on it and take it out and take it to a different computer. -
Cellular Phone
Cellular telephones are first tested in Japan and Chicago. We could call each other whenever now! We didn't have to go in a house and use their phones. -
Compact Disk
Sony announces the Compact Disk. It's a DVD!!! We could hear the audio and see images! -
68040 Chip
Motorola releases the 68040 chip. It manages communication! -
PCs
Approximately 1 billion PCs been sold. It's great to see people take computers home and stuff.
