  • John Mauchly recieved a degree in phsics

  • John Mauchly's Brilliance

    He was so smart he skipped his junior and senior year of college and recived his degree in physics in 1932
  • Presper Eckert

    Applied for his first paten at age 21 for 'Light Modulating Methods and Appareatus"
  • John Maulcy

    One of Prespers former students John Maulchy aquired a teaching position at Moore school after the summer course.
  • Ekert asssited teaching an electronics summer course

    (Although there is only the year shown thats real) He assisted teaching an electronics summer course in 1941
  • John Mauchly taught physics at Ursinus College until 1941

  • Mauchly visited Atanasuff

    And became interested in Atanasuffs invention the ABC or the worlds first half electronic half mechanical calculator
  • Contract to Begin the ENIAC was given

    On April 9, 1943 a meeting was held at Aberdeen Proving Ground to directors and Moore School was given a contract to begin building the ENIAC.
  • ENIAC was frozen

    To allow construction the ENIAC was frozen
  • Eckert and Mauchly recieve a contract to build the EDVAC

    The EDVAC is also an advanced version of the ENIAC. Its purose was ultimatly the same but this one was better and smaller.
  • ENIAC was shown to the Public

    The ENIAC was designed to compute values for artillary range tables.
  • ENIAC paten was filed

  • ENIAC was redesigned

    It was redesigned to allow the use of stored programs but lost speed.
  • Eker-Mauchly Computer Coorperation

    The cooperation was awarded the Howard n. Potts Medal
  • The UNIVAC 1

    The UNIVAC 1 was teh first all electronic computer capable of handleing Alphanumeric input data
  • UNIVAC

    THE UNIVAC 1 was finished on this date.
  • BINAC

    The Binary Automatic Computer or BINAC stored data on magnetic tabe and was supposed to be a better version of the ENIAC.
  • EMCC Money troubles

    EMCC ran into money troubles and was aquired by Remington Rand Cooperation
  • Mauchly was elected Fellow of the IRE and Fellow of the American Statistical Association

  • John Mauchly left Remington Rand

    But after he left he formed the Mauchly Associates
  • ENIAC paten accepted

  • Dynatred

    A computer consulting organization Mauchly founded
  • Unisys

    Remington Rand mergd with Burroughs Cooperation to become Unisys in 1986
  • Sperry Univac

    He became a consultant for Sperry Univac
  • Attanasuff recived credit for the ENIAC by court

  • ENIAC paten was invalidated

  • Eckert retired from Unisys

    Although he retired he still acted as a consultant
  • Presper Eckert recieved the National Medal of Science

    "For pioneering and continuing contributions in creating,developing, and improving the high speed electronic digital computer"
  • Ekert indicted into the Inventors Hall of Fame

  • John Mauchy was inducted to the Inventors Hall of Fame
