the word computer first used
Computer was actually used to call a human who's very good at calculating not a way to call a machine. But then, they stopped using their fundamental math and use macchines instead because they know that the macchine could calculate for a very long time and it's really convenient. -

Charles Babage Early History
Charles Babbage is the father of computer. he created the first computer which is still incomplete but could do a few simple math equation -
Ada Lovelace
She was an english mathmethician who was known as Charles Babbage's apprientice for the analytical macchine. What she wrote about the machine is what we called algorithm today or a step by step calculations. -
Herman Hollerith's Tabulating Machine
Due to the rapid growth of population because of the immigrant recording datas are much harder. Plus the u.s constituion instruct to conduct a population survey for tax. So Herman was inspired by the railway punch card. Now his tabulating machine can be used to collect the data of a gender , age , state of residence , and other information. Which was continued being used for quite a long time. -
IBM founder Charles Ranlett Flint
Charles Ranlett Flint the creator of the famous wide known computer company. Eventually, CTR (computer tabulating recording company) was turned into IBM as we see today. It was his greatest achievement. He was the board of directors IBM until 1930 when he retired becuase of his old age and later die four years later in 1934. -
First Programmable computer
The first programmable computer was called the Z1. It was created by Konrad Zeus in his parent's living room in 1936-1938.It was the first programmable computer but it's unreliable in operation. It was destoryed in the bombing of Berlin. But later reconsturcted. -
First generation Computer
The 1st generation is around 1940-1956.
The main component of the first generation is Vacuum Tubes which is used for circuity.
Input depends on punched cards and papertapes.
Output are displayed on printouts.
They relied on magnetic drum for memory storage.
They were very large in size.
The operating system are very slow.
They produced large amount of heat -
Eniac introduced
It was invented by J. Presper Eckert and John Mauchly.
In the university of pennsylvania. The construction of the ENIAC started in 1943, but it was not fully completed until 1946. -
Second Generation Computer
The time period for generation 2 is 1956-1963.
The main components are transistors.
Transistors are invented in 1947.
It later got famous around late 1950s.
They allowed computer to be smaller, cheaper, and faster.
They still use punched cards and paper tapes.
The output is still displayed on paper.
They use core memory for storing data.
The core memory use magnetic toroids which wires are planted on a silicon chip who are the one that read and write information. -
3rd Generation
Integrated Circuits were the third generation computer main component.
Transistors were shrink into smaller size and placed on silicon chips.
This make the computer faster and more portable.
Instead of punched cards they use monitors and keyboard.
Which allow you to interact with the system face to face.
