The IBM 650 magnetic drum calculator was the first mass-produced computer. It sold 450 in one year. This is significant because it would appear that computers started being more and more common in the world, and this is essentially the start of that. -

Apollo Computer unveiled the first work station, its DN100, offering more power than some minicomputers. Now a days, all major work places have workstations. -

Apple Computer launched the Macintosh, the first successful mouse-driven computer with a graphic user interface. Now all computers have a GUI, and this was the first one. -

YouTube, the first video sharing site came online in 2005. After youtube came out, it is now the home of billions of videos.
