John Presper Eckert & John W. Mauchly created the first computer to pick presidents. This was important because it got computers more widly known and the government started to use them. -

John Backus & IBM created he first successful high level programming language. Big thing because computers could write in english and other languages -

Steve Russell creates first computer game. I love computer games so I picked this event. -

Douglas Engelbart created the mouse. I chose this event because it made comoputers easier to operate. -

Original internet was created. Important because computers wouldn't be the same without it. -

Faggin, Hoff & Mazor created first microprocessor. Important because computers wouldn't be the same today. -

Quick and Dirty
Microsoft thinks of "Quick And Dirty" operating system. Makes things simplier and easier. -
GUI
Apple Lisa Computer has the first home computer with a GUI. Makes everything pretty, not boring.
