IMB created it's first computer, called the 701. During 3 years of production, they sold 19 to research facilities, aircraft companies, and the government. It allowed for better communication between governments and more break throughs in science. -
DEC's PDP-1
The first precursor to the minicomputer sold for $120,000. One of 50 built computers included a cathode ray tube graphic, and needed no air conditioning. The first video game, known as SpaceWar! was used on this. -
Apollo
The Apollo Guidance Computer started orbiting Earth on Apollo 7. -
