  • Roanoke

    Roanoke
    Roanoke was the first English colony founded in the "New World". Sir Walter Raleigh was the man that was behind it all, because he was the first explorer for this trip. The first settlers of this new land did not do to well and many did not survive. Their food supply dwindled, and there were many attacks from the Native Americans. John white came over with more settlers, when he came back for the second time it was deserted.

  • Jamestown

    Jamestown
    In 1607 a group of around 100 people were sent over to America to create the first settlement disease and lack of food and attacks from the Native Americans. John Rolfe was the reason that they had peace during the 1620's Jamestown started to expand.

    This was the house in where the representatives meet for the thirteen colonies. George Washington was a part of the House of Burgesses. This is how they found the thirteen colonies.     This was the first agreement to have a self government to be enforced in America. On September 16, 1620 the Mayflower that had 102 passengers, who called themselves Pilgrims, were traveling from Plymouth, England. Because of the rough times trying to not be persecuted for ways of worship with act was passed that did not allow people to harass others for not going to church.     More than 200 people accused for being witches, and 20 people were killed. They began in February 1692. Tituba, Sarah Good and Sarah Osborne were the first people that were convicted.

This also helped many people to be able to express their feeling more freely about God, to feel closer to him. This happened because of the constant "dryness" among believers.     In 1763,when the French and Indian War ended, the British issued a proclamation which became a cornerstone tot he law of Native Americans, Americans, and Canadians. This was an attempt form the British (King George) to gain control over their colonies. most people resented this and the Native Americans even tried to Claim their land back.
