The House of Burgesses
representatives met from 1619 until 1776. The members, or burgesses, were elected from each county in Virginia with each county sending two burgesses. -
Massachusetts Bay
The Massachusetts Bay Colony was found in 1620 by Pilgrims but later found in 1630 by John Winthrop and they made all of their money and food by Whaling, Fishing, and Lumbering. -

Rhode Island
Rhode Island was founded by Roger Williams and Anne Hutchinson 1636, after he spent a winter with the indians he finally bought some land from the Narragansett Indians. -

Delaware was founded by Peter Minuit and the New Sweden Company.
Peter Minuit of the Netherlands establishes a colony called New Sweden. Minuit later is forced to give up the colony when King Charles II takes control of the area called "New Netherland" and tells him to give it to his brother James, the Duke of York. James renames New Sweden Delaware. -
The Duke of York establishes New York
With the Duke of York in control of the Dutch trading post, he renamed it New York. The city the Dutch called New Amsterdam became New York City.
