Campbell University is Established

Jan 5, 1887

Campbell University, earlier known as Buies Creek Academy, was founded by James Archibald Campbell in a small church in Buies Creek, NC. Initially, there were only 92 students enrolled into the school for the first semester of instruction. However, Campbell University has continued to grow and expand their offerings over the years, to the point that they currently have about 6,500 students enrolled in either an undergraduate or graduate study program.

Campbell University Announces their Plan to Add a College of Pharmacy

Campbell University officially announced their plan to add a college of pharmacy to their list of health science programs, in response to the demand to fill pharmaceutical positions in North Carolina. At the time, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill was the only other pharmacy school in North Carolina. Campbell's new program would only take a student four years to complete, as opposed to five years at UNC- Chapel Hill.

Campbell University Opens their College of Pharmacy

Aug 18, 1986

Campbell University welcomes 55 students into the first class of their new pharmacy school, with Dr. Ronald Maddox as the founding dean. In addition, when Campbell's first inaugural class graduated from the pharmacy program, they had a 100 percent passage rate on the national board exam. Today, the program has continued to gain more awareness and credibility, as they have been ranked as one of the top 75 pharmacy schools in the United States.

A New President is Named at Campbell University

After a six month recruiting process, Dr. J. Bradley Creed was recently named as Campbell University's 5th President. Creed was chosen by a committee comprised of faculty and students who felt that his credentials and past experience in education and religion well beyond qualified him for this important role at Campbell University.

My Tentative First Day of Class

I plan to begin my college journey as an undergraduate student in the Pre-pharmacy program at Campbell University in the Fall of 2017.
