Cuban Missile Crisis
John F. Kennedy, president of the U.S. and Nikita Khrushchev, leader of the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union gave money to Cuba because it had a communist party. Out of this Cuba gained money and nuclear missiles to then point towards the U.S. This event took place in the U.S. and Cuba in 1962. -
Vietnam War
This war was between North Vietnam, communist, and South Vietnam, democratic. The U.S. backed up South Vietnam, while the natives of Vietnam, the Vietcong, backed up North Vietnam.North and South Vietnam were battling to find out if united Vietnam would be communist or democratic. This event took place in Vietnam because of the land battles happening only on Vietnam land. This event affected society because of how people in the U.S. thought of the U.S. government during this war. -

Man Lands on The Moon
Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins were involved in this event. They landed on the moon July 20, 1969 at 4:17 p.m. Neil Armstrong was the first on the three that stepped on the moon. The main purpose was to plant the U.S. flag on the moon before the Russians did. This impacted economy because millions tuned in to watch this on t.v. so they could witness this historic event. -
Bill Clinton
Bill Clinton was the governor of Arkansas before he became the democratic candidate for the U.S. 1992 election. He was elected in 1992 and finished his presidency in 2000. He was important because he lowered the debt the U.S. had. This event happened at the White House because he was president, I guess. This affected politics because this was an election for presidency and because he had lowered the HUGE debt the U.S. had, too bad he couldn't get rid of all of it. -
George W. Bush
George W. Bush was elected for president in 2000. Bush was the candidate for the republicans and was the Governor of Texas before becoming president. This was important because during the wars on Afghanistan and Iraq he was the president. He also had Saddam Hussein, the former Iraq President, executed. Bush impacted politics by being the republic president during the 2001, 9/11 attacks on the Pentagon,Twin Towers,and crashed plane in Pennsylvania. Fun fact: I share a birthday with George W. Bush -
Iraq and Afghanistan Wars
The Afghanistan wars have been between the U.S. and Afghanistan, while the Iraq Wars have been between Iraq and the U.S. These two different wars have been in Afghanistan and Iraq in 2001. The Iraq war has been important because it helped allow Iraq to elect it's own government. Also, these wars have helped with the deaths of Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein who were terrorist leaders. This was impacted politics by having two very important ISIS leaders dead and making ISIS weaker in general. -
