The UN was created after ww2 because the world wanted peace. It was aiming to maintain international peace and stability. -
Berlin Blockade
The Soviet Union blocked the western allies railway, road, and canal access. The purpose was to force western allied powers to abandon their post ww2 jurisdictions. -
Creation of NATO
NATO stand for North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The US, Canada, and several Western European nations created NATO to provide security against the Soviet Union. -
Korean War
The Korean War was caused by the division of Korean after ww2 and the tensions between the communist North and the capitalist South. The war lasted 3 years and ended in a stalemate. -

A military and political effort to overthrow the Cuban government. The Cuban revolution started because of the violent opposition of the Cuban people. -

It was a competition of space exploration between the US and the USSR during the cold war. The US won the space race after Apollo 11 landed on the moon. -

This was a British-French-Israeli invasion of Egypt. This led to international humiliation for the British and the French in the beginning of the cold war. -

This was a failed military landing operation on the southwest coast of Cuba. The American force surrendered and were publicly interrogated and put in prison. -

the East German government began to build a barrier between East Berlin and West Berlin. East German police and military units sealed off all arteries leading to West Berlin. -
Cuban Missile Crisis
It was a 13 day confrontation between the Us and Soviet Union governments. Vasily Aleksandrovich Arkhipov was a Soviet officer known for stopping the missiles. -
Fall of the Berlin Wall
The berlin wall was a guarded concrete wall separating it from East Berlin and the German Democratic Republic. It was the first step towards German reunification. -
Fall of the Soviet Union
The fall was due to economic struggles, political reforms, and desire for independence. It allowed independence of 15 constituent republics and adoption of more liberal political systems.
