    -A group of ten film industry members refused to testify to an anti-communist committee during the second red scare.
  • Marshall Plan

    -Gave European countries $12 billion in aid. -Helped prevent the threat of communist revolution.
  • Nato formed

    -Military alliance
  • Korean War

    -War between North and South Korea. -Still has a lot of tension now. -Went from 6/25/1950 - 7/27/1953
  • US Officials Enter Vietnam War

    -US officials enter the Vietnam War via marines. -First came 25,000 troops.

    -A competition between USSR and US to get to space first after the Cold War. -8/2/1955-10/4/1957
  • Bay Of Pigs

    -1,400 Cuban exiles launched what became a botched invasion at the Bay of Pigs on the south coast of Cuba. In 1959, Fidel Castro came to power in an armed revolt that overthrew Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista. -4/17/1961-4/20/1961
