The allies agree to split up germany into 4 zones of occupation. The United States, France, and Britian control the western zones of occupation, the Soviet Union controls the eastern zone. -

A Pledge Against Red
The Truman Doctrine was created a year after Churchill's speech. It was a pledge to provide economic and military aid to hault the spread of communism. In his words, Truman said to help free people resist takeover by "armed minorties or outside pressures." -
The Marshall Plan
War related economic problems began to rise in Europe. In fear that europeans would turn to communism, Truman launched a massive goverment operation known as The Marshall Plan. The goal was to provide $13,000,000,000 for rebuilding Europe. It was a huge success as it allowed Europe to make a rapid recovery, and stablitize the political tensions. -
Berlin Airdrop Crisis
Eastern german soilders form a blockade aginst West Germany. The westen countries were able to get around this issue by planning an sucsseful airdrop in west German soil. This eventally led to the removal of the blockade, as it seemlying did nothing to keep supplies out of west germany. -
NATO and Warsaw
NATO was formed as a military alliance made up of western states to fight against the spread of commuinism. Russia would soon form their own coaliation of other pro communist nations against western civilation. They were known as the Warsaw. -
An Explosive Race
Russia sucessfully conducts a nuculear test launch. This forced the US to create better weaponry to match over Russia's achevement, thus the Hydrogen bomb was born. -
Korean Conflict
North Korean soliders invade South Korea to continue the spread of commuinism in Europe. UN forces despatch just in time, and manage to almost competely push communism out of Korea. China enters the war, and fights on the behalf of North Korea, manging to push back UN forces. The war virtually changed nothing, and the problems that Korea face are still serious political issues in the country today. -
Unity Amongst Germany
After opening it's boarders with Austria, people from the east moved by the thousands, flooding to west Germany. Powerless to stop this mass immgration, east Germany opened it's gates from the Berlin wall. This would soon follow by Germany reuniting as a single country, with democratic ideals.
