why? because he thought american are free people.

Marshall Plan

The Marshall Plan started 1947 and ended in 2017.
the marshall plan was basically a recovery program. State George C. Marshall was the person who was named after the program. The plan was crafted to rebuild destroyed infrastructures. This plan was beneficial to both counties and the trade impact grew.

Berlin Blockade/Airlift

The Berlin Blockade/ airlift started 1948 and ended in 1949 it only lasted a year. It was an attempt by the Soviet Union to limit the US. The U.S. and the Uk was involved in the Berlin Blockade. They were called the airlift blockade because they blocked rails and canals.

Red scare

the red scare began in 1919 but it intenced in the late 1940s and started to ease in the late 1950s. the Red scare are people in America who liked the communist idea and they worshipped the Soviet flag which was red (hint why they called The Red Scare). the Hollywood film help with the decrease in the red scare calt.

the space race began in 1955 and ended in 1975. this "war" was from the two superpowers U.S and the Soviet Union. this "war" happened because they wanted to see which powers had better technology. (PS the U.S won >.<)

Cuban Missile crisis

The Cuban Missile crisis happened in 1962 and ended in 13 days. The U.S was ready to use missiles to the Soviet Union if it was necessary. John F Kennedy was the one to make the desision and tell the citizens. But they agreed on not using missiles.

U-2 incident

1960

The U-2 incident was in the May 1960s. U-2 was a spy plane for the Americans to spy on the Soviet Union. but the U-2 spy plane was captured by the Soviet Union. The pilot was Francis Gary a spy for the Americans. After the pesident Dwight Eisenhower admitted that they were spying he was sent to jail for 10 year but got out in 2 year to change the person to the pilot for 5 years.

bay of pigs invasion

the Bay of Pigs Invasion was launched in 1961 by the CIA to cuban.This act happened from a long decision making after Cubans new ruler Castro. The attack failed by being outnumbered from Castro's troops. The invaders were Cuban man who escaped their homes after Castro's rules.

Berlin Wall

Germany built the Berlin wall to prevent the western. The wall was in action in 1961 and ended in 1989. The wall was made for keeping the western Berlin away and also from escaping. the government of GDR made the Berlin wall.

Non-Proliferation Treaty

The Non-Proliferation Treaty was in 1968. It was an agreement in multiple nuclear tech majors. it was made because they wanted to not be boomed by any of the major nuclear. It wasn't a threat for the people to be scared of.

Perestroika and Glasnost

The Perestroika and Glasnost was in 1980. it was a reform act for the Soviet Union after realizing the communist. the leader Mikhail Gorbachev led the party within the Soviet Union.
