    Congress passed the Economic Cooperation Act of 1948. On April 3,1948, President Truman signed the act called The Marshall Plan.
  • Creation of NATO

    The U.S and the U.S.S.R took over alot of Europe after World War II. The United Nations chapter, 12 nations established the North Alantic Treaty Organization to coordinate the military defences of memeber nations against possible Soviet aggression.
  • Korean War

    North Korea invaded South Korea. Truman was president at the time of this war. He had ordered navel and air support for South Korea. Republic Senator Robert Traft from ohio, was the only one who objected that truman was wrongly usuing congress's power to declare war.

    The Vietnam War was very long and costly. Over 3 million people died during this war including 58,000 Americans. In 1973, President Richard Nixon ordered the withdrawal of the U.S. forces.

    the bay of pigs was a unsuccesfull military invasion of Cuba. Brigade 2506 intentions were to overthrow the revolutionary leftist government of president Osvaldo Dorticos Torrado.

    On August 14, in the morning, border police were ordered to fire warning shots and then to kill. The first 100 people who tryed to cross the wall, died that afternoon.

    The Berlin Wall was created to divide West Berlin and East Germany. Also, it was created for symbolic boundary between democracy and communism during the cold war. The Berlin Wall stood until November 9, 1989. That night, crowdes od people surrounded the wall untill it didnt stand anymore.
