    I added this because it one of the first times that communism began to take on a world wide hunt with its spreading.

  • Yalta Conference

    I added this because this placed FDR and Stalin at the same place and formed a bond that would be broken towards the end of the war

  • Berlin Blockade begins

    This ultimately hightened tensions and added to further divide

  • Berlin Blockade Ends

    This left hard feelings.

  • Communist Takeover in China

    This devestated the American people and created more tension thinking it was horrible that China would succumb to this

  • Soviet's Test their first atomic bomb

    This added to the tension by competiton. It also scared us into believing they would use it

  • Joe McCarthy's Witchhunt

    This created mass hysteria and painted communism nationwide as a bad thing. It unledged a full scale attack on communism

  • Cuba Communist Takeover

    This was way too close to home for our liking. It caused tension of course, and predominately fear

  • Bay of Pigs Invasion

    It embarrased us and scared us. We also somewhat expected a retalliation.

  • Construction of Berlin Wall Begins

    This made the United States mad. It also caused divide among the two sides

  • Apollo 11 Lands on Moon

    This gave us a sense of victory which hightened tensions and feelings.

  • End of Soviet Union

    This was important for ending these tensions because they weren't going to be eliminated any other way.
