Allies devided Germany into four zone ruled by the United States, United Kingdom, The USSR, and France. USSR wanted Germany weak and divided so it couldn't attack again. Western allies wanted to rebuild Germany to benefit America and Europe. -

The United Nations were started as a international organization to prevent wars. It was based in New York which was considered safe from enemies. -

The Marshall Plan was an United States program to give assistance to European countries to rebuild after the war. This was annocenced by secretary of State George Marshall designed to feed and help rebuild European people, without food and industry Western Europe might have turned to Communism leaving the United States without trade partners. -

United States policy of giving economic and military aid to free nations threated by internal or external opponents. Even thought the United States were told that they should not interfere with other nations and cannot afford to fight communists all ober the world they still gave $400 million to Greece to fight off communists -

Western allies planned to begin circulation of a new currency in their zones in Germany, -
Berlin Airlift.
The Western Allies began the Berlin Airlift, a massive operation of flying food and supplies into West Berlin to sustain the whole city. -
Congress approved.
Congress approved the $12.5 billion for aid to the European countries, only after communist took over Czechoslovakia. Most of the aid went to France, Italy, West Germany, and Britan. -
