The cold war between The allies and the Soviet union. It was a cold war, as no open conflect between sides was engaged. -
Berlin Airlift
In responce to a blockade between west and east berlin, allies airlift supplies to east berlin. The blockade was shortly abandoned. -
Korean War
The Korean War was one of the largest conflicts persisting to the Cold War. The north was supported by yhe Soviets, while the south was supported bt America. -
Vietnam War
The Vietnam war was a conflict between North Vietnam and South Vietnam. The Soviets supported communist North while the US suported anti-communist South Vietnam. -
Cuban Missile Cricis
The Cuban Missle Cricis was a name given to the installation of soviet nukes in Cuba. Shortly after, it was agreed for the missles to be removed from Cuba in exchange for the removal of american nukes from Turkey. -
SALT 1
Strategic Arms Limitation Talks, or SALTs were aimed at decreacing the number of arms in both contries. SALT 1 also lead to the ABM treaties. -
Bay of Pigs Invasion
This was a US led invasion of Cuba. It was intended to overthrow castro and remove soviet influance in Cuba. -
ABM Treaty
The ABM treaties were signed to create vurnerability of each side to the other's weapons. This deterred each from firing on another. -
SALT 2
SALT 2 was another round of arms limitations talks. This round significantly decreaced the amount of arms on each side. -
Berlin Wall Falls
Nearing the end of the cold war, the berlin wall falls. This reunites east and west berlin. -
End of the Cold War
The cold war officially ends. President Bush gives a speech declaring such.
