The 3 major ally powers (Stalin, Churchill, Truman) had a conference in Germany to negotiate terms for the end of World War II. This would end in Stalin making a false promise and being deemed a liar. -
Atomic Bombing
The Atomic Bombing was a giant bombing from a B-29 plane, it killed 80,000 people and also caused radiation poisoning, a few days later, another one was dropped, this would end in Japan's surrender and the start of the atomic age. It was also named the Manhattan Project. -
Long Telegram
The Long Telegram was a document written by a man named George Kennan. It was an 8000 word document that stated his view on The Soviet Union. The document went over how he praises the Russians, but as the document went on, he started to express the negatives. He also stated that the Soviet Union did not see a "permanent peaceful coexistence” with the west. It was an insight of what the Russian's were thinking and how to prevent anything from going further. -
Iron Curtain Speech
The Iron Curtain speech was a speech from Winston Churchill (Former British Prime Minster). The speech was about him stressing to ask the US and the to act as the peace against the Soviet Union. This had metaphorically lowered the "Iron curtain". This was an "alarm" to spill info about what is going on. The Iron curtain means an invisible jail. -
Truman Doctrine
The Truman document was a support document that stated the United states would provide support to other democratic nations, this was done via economic support, military support and political support. It was made to prevent the spread of communism. -
Marshall Plan
The Marshall plan was a loan to other countries to rebuild them to prevent the spread of communism. The loan was 17 billion dollars and provided food, shelter and rebuild of their establishments. -
Berlin Blockade
The Berlin Blockade was a response by Stalin to what the USA was doing, it was a lock up of Berlin and had the intent to starve all Germans inside of it, this was counteracted by the US with airlifts. -
Berlin Airlift
The Berlin Airlift was a counter to what Stalin did to Germany, it was a supply and support line from American Planes, it gave the starving people of Berlin food, water, medical support and heat. -

Alger Hiss was someone who was accused of being a spy that was giving information to the Soviet's. He was someone who worked within American Government officals. -

This was an influence spreading to not have communism take over, it was a "race" to spread America's ideals over the Soviet's Unions ideas. -
