Postwar occupation of germany
The U.S, Great Britain, and France occupied West Germany while the Soviet Union occupied the East. West Germany became a democracy while the East was practically a dictatorship under the Soviets. The West became apart of NATO and was recognized as the independent Germany. This ended May 5 1955. -
Greek Civil War
The war was fought between Greece Government and the Democratic Army of Greece. The government was supported by the U.S. The democratic army was supported by the Communist Nations which the war led to a Government victory. This was ended on October 16 1949 -
Chinese Communist Revolution
This was a solution of the people to the problems of China. This was the rise of a party which was the communist party lead by Mao Zedong. The party eventually rose to power in China making the country communist. The revolution ended in 1950. -
Enactment of the Marshall Plan
This plan was enacted to not repeat what happened after World War 1. This plan signed by President Truman was a plan to help Europe recover after the war. This ultimately lead to 13 million dollars of U.S funding in the end of the plan. -
Berlin Airlift
After splitting Germany and the city of Berlin the Soviets wanted all of the city and Germany to themselves. The soviets then blockaded the city of Berlin on the Western side. This caused the Allies to air drop supplies and food to the people of Berlin bypassing the blockade. This ultimately ended on May 12 1949. -
Korean War
The war began when North Korea invaded South Korea. The United States were dragged in when our allies the South Koreans needed our aide. However the Chinese and Soviets came to aide the North Koreans. -

The Iranian military being supplied and supported by the United States. This was the iverthrow of Prime Minister Mossadegh. This was favoring the monarchy of Mohammad Reza. -
Cuban Revolution
The revolution was a revolution led by Fidel Castro. This was a revolution to break free away from the dictatorship rule. Eventually the rule was forced out by Castro. The revolution ended January 1 1959. -
Vietnam War
This war was a cause of the Americans was like the Korean War. The North Vietnamese were helped by the Soviets and the South by Americans. Eventually the Americans withdrew and the North overtook the South. The war officially ended April 30 1975. -
Bay of Pigs Invasion
The invasion was part of the Cuban Revolution. The Bay of Pigs was an assault of Cuban Missle. The United States trained these exiles to take back Cuba from the dictatorship. -
Build Of The Berlin Wall
During the Cold War Germany was divided by East and West communist and republic. While east Germans fled to the West the Communists built the wall. This happened literally overnight. -
Cuban Missle Crisis
The crisis was practically a missle scare. This is a confrontation between the soviets and the americans. The soviets built missles in Cuba in response to Americans building in Italy and Turkey. This resulted in both countries removing their missles in those countries. The crisis ended October 28 1962. -
Tiananmen Square Massacre
This was the Chinese government responding to the protests in this square. This was the Chinese killing mass amounts of Chinese citizens. This was because the government did not listen to the protests of making Chna a democracy. -
Fall of the Berlin Wall
The wall was torn down to repress East Germany. When East Germans were allowed to cross the border many Germans tore the wall down. This marked the end of the communist rule in Germany. -
Fall of the Soviet Union
The Union fell due to the declaration number 142-H. This document acknowledged the former independent soviet states. The final leader resigned and handed office over to President Yeltsin.
