First American Coker at UK Kennel Club Born
The first UK Kennel Club registered American Cocker Spaniel was Aramingo Argonaught and on the day he was born. It was bred by Herbert L. Steinberg. -
American Cokers Became Rare
During the 1960s, the American Cocker was shown as a rare breed, which meant that they did not have a show class of their own and could only be shown in variety classes. -
Dog Show
During the 1960s, Aramingo Argonaught, who was the first American Cocker Spaniel to be shown at Crufts, was in a class called "Any variety not classified at this show". -
Seperate the Types
During 1970, The Kennel Club in the UK recognised the American Cocker Spaniel as being separate from the English type. -
Different Breed Once Again
Sometime during 1970, the breed was given a separate register in the Kennel Club Breed Supplement, because it was previously included in "Any other variety".
