    Navigations Acts
    The purpose of the Acts was to only allow colonists to sell and trade with British dealers. The outcome of the Act was the colonists started to smuggle goods.
  • Procalamtion of 1763

    Procalamtion of 1763
    The Act intended to not allow colonists to move west into the Ohio Valley. The outcome of the Act was the colonists were furious because some of them had already bought land out west.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The purpose of the act was to lower tax on sugar, hoping colonists would pay it. The outcome of the Act was colonists still reufsed to pay the tax.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The purpose of the Act was to tax all printed material. If the document did not have the stamp on it, it was illegal. The outcome of the Act was Colonists boycotted British and European goods, then merchants begged Parliamnet to repeal the act because they were losing so much money. So, PArliammnet repealed the Act.

    The purpose of the act was to allow Britain to rightfully tax and make descisons for the colonies. The outcome of the Act was the tax collectors were harassed.
  • Townsend Acts

    The purpose of the Act was to only tax glass, tea, paper, and it would only be paid at entrance into country. The outcome of the Act was the colonists were angry and thought only their own repersentatives could tax them. The colonists organized a boycott against British goods.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    The purpose of the Act was to allow the British East India Company to have a monopoly on tea for the colonies. The outcome of the Act was the colonists were angry and organized a boycott against British Tea. The colonists dumped 342 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor.
  • Coercive Acts 1774 (Intolerable Acts)

    Coercive Acts 1774 (Intolerable Acts)
    The purpose of the Act was to punish colonists for not following British laws, close the Boston Harbor, and make the colonists house British soldiers.
  • Quebec Act

    Quebec Act
    The purpose of the Act was to set up a government fro Quebec, and it alsogave Quebec land west of the Appalachian Mountains and north of the Ohio River. The outcome of the Act was the colonists were angry and expressed their feelings in their version of the Intolerable Acts.
