  • Day 1

    Day 1
    Welcome Students to class and explain that there will only be 2 rules: 1. Respect Yourself 2. Respect Others Respect Yourself
    1.Come to class on time in order to maximize your learning.
    2 Display how smart you are by making sure your homework and classwork are complete to your best ability. We'll work together as a group to discuss what respect for yourself looks like and get examples from the students. Will summarize with the 2 points above on chart paper and show a video.
  • Day 2

    Day 2
    Welcome students and briefly review 2 rules and ask students to brainstorm more examples of what self respect looks like.
    Summarize with the following 2 new points:
    3. Keep your good reputation by doing your own work.
    4. Since how you speak demonstrates your intelligence, make sure your language is appropriate for school.
    Ask for feedback, comments, or questions and summarize by re-iterating why respect for oneself is important.Tell students the 2nd rule - Respect for Others will is tomorrow.
  • Day 3

    Day 3
    Welcome students and briefly review Respect for Youself.
    Introduce Respect for Others and ask students for feedback using a mind map. Summarize with these 2 points:
    1. Allow others to learn by letting them focus on the teacher and not you.
    2. Share only positive comments about others (or their family members).
    Ask for student feedback, comments, & questions. Share cartoons to reinforce the understanding
  • Day 4

    Day 4
    Review previous day points and ask students to explain what respect for others looks like. Summarize with these 2 final points
    3. Take pride in your workspace by keeping it neat & tidy.
    4. Value other people’s property as you value your own.
    Have students prepare and present skits on both rules. Review & summarize the 2 rules and give students copies to take home for parent/guardian signatures and have them tell their parents that an email will also be sent.
